This is brilliant to see, one of the big guys doing digital right. Gym Better – This is a flip on the crowdsourcing model and how to utilise existing resources (in this case gyms) and provide a benefit to the end user / consumer – Accessing gyms without a contract and for a great deal. And not just one chain, multiple options, inc. Fitness First, Goodlife, Any-Time Fitness (some of the biggest chains in Australia basically). Medibank have thought of everything here and bundled it into a lovely simple app – visit 8 times (Medibank Members at just $8.50 a visit) and you’re free for the rest of the month. #genius
With something like 60% of gym memberships not being used in Australia (just sitting there), they’ve even solved the problem of having a membership and not wasting your money sitting on the couch!! While not their primary intention I’m sure, this takes care of the times you’re on holiday, or just like many of us overworked and not quite ready for our next big pre-summer detox or 12 week challenge etc.
Of course this is about selling Medibank memberships and building a positive #GenBetter brand, but for us this is a game-changer. It shows the big guys are now stepping up and adding brilliant new, on-brand, digital style collaborative services that benefit the consumer and our ever changing habits. Learn more below;
