AndMine is supporting SAFI a campaign against changes which would see key Australian manufacturers, designers and the jobs of thousands effected and force many more companies to offshore garment sourcing.
In brief, what is this all about? Basically through Australian designers, manufactures in Australia share work amongst thousands of home based sub-contractors; the new Fair Work Act (TCF provisions) amended March 2012 reduce the flexibility of these arrangements, effectively shutting down these jobs.
SAFI and AndMine supports all efforts to eliminate genuine exploitation of workers in the TCF industry and any other industry worldwide.
SAFI hopes to generate enough public concern and to help direct these concerns to the appropriate channels while maintaining the flexibility for the mothers and home based sub-contractors who rely on their Australian based work.
For more information, please visit SAFI’s Facebook page and like their page to support this cause.
Go on, see if you can challenge us on "Save The Australian Fashion Industry" - Part of our 168 services at AndMine. We are quick to respond but if you want to go direct, test us during office hours.
Add Your CommentThe &Mine team is great to work with and went beyond the brief to deliver a family violence website which was both engaging and easy to use. The team is collaborative, understand the constraints and sensitivities of a government environment and work alongside you to develop creative and practical solutions and ideas. Stakeholders have only had positive feedback about the website including with comments such as the best government website I have seen.
